Shannon has been the Publisher and Creative Director for two publications.
Fit and Family Magazine and Discover Smith Mountain Lake.
Shannon was the Creative Director, handling all advertising production, photography and photo shoots, editoral management, design and layout and overall management of deadlines and production schedules. She also handled the online magazine and website. Shannon managed and any given time 5-10 contributors and employees.
In January of 2010, Shannon and her partner sold both Discover Smith Mountain Lake and the new Discover Roanoke Valley magazines to a new publisher.
The magazines where hailed as a favorite among readers in the area and it had a solid list of subscribers in and out of the area.
